A new water line will cause Carefree Highway delays from near 60th Street to Scottsdale Road for the next three months. Replacement of a water line will force the Carefree Highway to one lane from 6 am to 4 pm from Monday through Friday, with flagmen directing the traffic.
An alternate route is suggested if at all possible, as commuters can expect considerable delays, particularly during peak rush hours. While plans do call for widening of the highway on this stretch of road, that is a future project and will not be addressed in this water project.
